Guided
Trailrides on Horseback
|
| A
ride along forested trails with birds, wildflowers, and the beautiful
vistas is part of the Chaunigan experience you won't want to miss.
We offer our guests trailrides each morning and plan the ride according
to skill levels and prior trails already done. See the hiking
section for a detailed description of some of our trails. |
Our
Canadian Explorer Package
is the ultimate horseback riding package. This Wilderness Overnight
Pack Trip offers four chances only for four adult riders to explore
even further into the wilderness surrounding us. From golden sunrises
to hearty open air cooking and relaxing evenings, you will enjoy
each day of riding one of our ranch horses through amazing scenery
to the next night's campsite. We provide everything needed, and
you will also have several nights in one of our Rustic cabins, as
well as the use of a canoe while at the lodge. This could be simply
one of the most memorable holidays that you ever take!

- We provide only Guided Trailrides on Horseback – no non-guided
riding allowed due to the remote wildernessness.
- Our wrangler will adjust the ride to meet the skill level of
the rider; even for the very young, perhaps a ride in the corral
on a lead is all that’s needed.
|
- We provide oil skin slickers, boots, and other riding equipment
to enhance the experience.
- We’re fortunate to be in an area that lends itself to a multitude
of trails to choose from. A selection of trails will be offered

| Chaunigan
Lake’s spectacular location scenery allows us to offer
a variety of interesting vistas. |
| |
| We
have a new trail in 2006 which circles the top of Chaunigan Mountain
(that’s the hill behind the Rustic cabins) which provides vistas
360 degree view. |

 |
- We bring a pack lunch on these trips when required – the price
of which is included with legendary lodge plan or paid for separately
if not.
- Trailrides are mainly for the guests of the lodge. We are quite
a long drive to just come for a day ride. Trailrides go to our
lodge plan guests first, then if we have any empty saddles left
they can be filled with others who maybe are just renting.
